Autumn – Thursday Challenge
Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.
– Robert Frost
I’m almost a week late so I won’t worry about getting on the blogroll for this one, but this is my photo on the theme of Autumn. I just took this from my backyard – the brown tree is ours and the gold one is the neighbor’s. I love the way the light is shining through at a slant, like the last rays of summer trying to hold back the inevitable.
Simple Pleasures – Haiku
New puppy kisses
Smell of chicken and liver
But most of all love

Dark – Thursday Challenge
The Thursday Challenge for this week is “Dark”.
This is my dark place. The place where I must go regularly or face the wrath of my unclothed family. The Laundry Room in the Dungeon.

The Dreaded Empty Slate
I’m always so intimidated by the blank page. It’s hard to start from nowhere. What do I write before I’ve written anything? Will I regret my early posts as my later posts shape what my blog will be? It remains to be seen.
My plan is to have a combination of writing and photography/graphics as I’m inspired to share. There are some weekly projects I plan to join in on and I’m sure I’ll also add some random posts on whatever subjects trip my trigger on that particular day. This is to be my ‘creativity’ blog more than one of personal family anecdotes and what-not. I already have a blog for that. This is for things that I wouldn’t want to share there, but that are still a part of me, be they repressed or just previously unthought of.
Welcome! I hope you’ll return to see how it all shapes up.
